NO on Medicaid Expansion

In the House of Delegates, David Yancey voted repeatedly against legislation to expand the Medicaid program.

And in 2015, he voted to eliminate the VA's authority to expand Medicaid.

Through failing to expand Medicaid, Yancey denied crucial insurance coverage to an estimated 2,000 people in and near Newport News.

NO on choices for women

Yancey has spent considerable effort as a legislator passing bills that restrict women's choices on health and other important issues facing women:

  • Yancey voted for the Transvaginal Ultrasound Requirement (2012)
  • Yancey voted against considering an amendment to prevent vaginal penetration (2012)
  • In 2013, Yancey received an 89% rating from Family Foundation, the group who wants to end no-fault divorce and make it harder to divorce an abusive spouse


NO on birth control

In 2012, Yancey voted for the "Personhood Bill", which would ban many common forms of birth control.
